Our Policy
Our policies are our organizational culture that drives us forward. They are our beliefs and guiding principles as well as code of ethics in remaining true to our values. Our policies are therefore entrenched inside our bylaws which are accessible to our members. Here is a few of our guiding practices:
-
Board Meetings; We hold meetings, teleconferences and we keep minutes for future references. This helps with our accountability and transparency. Our minutes are not open to the public meaning they are not posted on our website.
-
Conflict of Interest; We have a conflict of interest policy in making sure we are not serving individual interests but remaining true to the mission and vision.
-
Compensations Policy; This policy remains the CEO and all board members do not receive any compensation and are on volunteer basis. This policy may change if it became essential for possible staffing after growth and due to asset management. Such changes would be effected through a vote. We report in our Tax Form 990 accordingly every year.
-
Donor Privacy Policy - MoGH respects donors and their privacy/confidentiality. We therefore seek permission to use donor’s information on our website and do not trade or share donor’s personal information or mail on behalf of other organizations. Donors have the right to tell MoGH to remove their names and contact information from mailing list MoGH shares as opt out. On the same token, MoGH reveals any funding it has received for certain projects. It therefore means a project may get funded by more than one donor/organization. At some point, a donor may request their funding be in honor of someone they love, or in memory of such. MoGH will honor such request, it means that a structure, or a name may be engraved in that order.
-
Key Staff Listed, MoGH considers few of its members as the key staff members. These are the members who run the organization on dairy basis and not necessarily converging during meeting or during a project to be carried on. The President, Vice President, Secretary, Human Resources Director, Medical Director, Networking - Fundraising Director, Education Director, Production Coordinators, Art Specialists, Networking Specialist, are considered as Key Staff. Form 990 is not able to Cleary tell this because is not as timely.
-
Service Period, We request that our volunteer members and officers commit to two years of service. After that period, fresh mandate is requested of which one may decide to cease being active and new board members are elected. It is true one may serve for a longer period of time. At times, some members priorities may change due to relocation, more schooling, increase in family size or demanding job. As such, we seek two weeks’ notice.
-
Material Diversion of Assets, MoGH follows the proper use of the organization assets for the sole purposes of the organization. Currently, the organization has no assets but this policy remains in place and we file form 990 every year, which will help report any changes
-
Independent Board MoGH has independent members who have a voting right regarding the organization. This enables us to deliberate more and have diverse views and accountability.
-
Partnerships – Myles of Great Hopes believes that no man is an island, together we stand. We are therefore seeking partnerships with likeminded organizations with goals of global citizenship, corporate responsibility or giving back to the community. It is in our core values that our entrusted responsibility to the needy require us to act NOW, today is too late for someone whose yesterday meant life and death!
Our Financial - Internal Control Standards
Myles of Great Hopes practices control with the duties of the members by dividing them so that no one person handles all aspects of a transaction from beginning to the end. Our accomplished projects have been low cost budget but we have the treasurer helping in the planning of our budget and growth.
Accountability
This is one of our important core values as an organization. We are committed to best practices when it comes to spending public funds. We are a young organization and we have proven on what can do with very limited resources. We advocate for transparency, integrity, respect, trust and standard ethics and moral values.

As you notice, Myles of Great Hopes has accomplished different projects with very low funding. None of our members are paid. We have taken numerous photos of works done as a way of reporting and sharing with our stakeholders and donors the results of their contributions.
As we continue to grow, we plan on registering with Better Business Bureau, Charity Navigator, and InterAction
